COVID-19 has delayed non-COVID care, with many avoiding necessary medical attention. Listen to our KCBX interview on how the pandemic affects healthcare access.

One of the biggest under-the-radar stories of the coronavirus pandemic is the care that non-COVID patients aren’t getting. In light of ongoing shelter-in-place regulations and the fear of exposure, many people who have had serious medical issues have simply stayed home instead of getting the care they need.

To discuss the impact COVID has had on non-COVID patients, we were recently interviewed by Kris Kington Barker of Central Coast Voices on KCBX along with Lindsey Faucette, DO, FAAFP of SLO Health. Here’s an excerpt from the interview details on the KCBX website:

…many people [have] ignored serious medical issues that should have sent them to their provider or an emergency room. Join [Kris Kington Barker, Susan Polk, and Lindsey Faucette] as they discuss how COVID-19 is impacting healthcare access, utilization and insurance coverage for non-COVID care.
